UE4 3D Modelled Kitchen (University Group Assignment)

My second major 3D modelling project from my Bachelor of Fine Arts - Animation course in my second year. This was a group assignment between myself, Vidida Sontichai, Alice Holland, Grant Cordwell and Laika Randall for our KNB227 class "CGI Technologies", and was to fit the current on-going project "Grandma's House".

In terms of my own assets, I believe that my ability to create 3D models and texture them has improved greatly, and I am really proud with this final outcome. There are things here that ultimately did not make the final cut due to assignment deadlines, along with minor clipping errors if you look closely enough, but for the most part it turned out great.

Massive thanks to my teammates for bringing this all together, it came out looking lovely. Just wish we had more time, and more projects like this to work on in future.

While the assets weren't created by me, I did position a few of the objects here, along with changing colours, scale and material functionality within Unreal.

One of the earlier assets I created - the microwave. In future I would like to have made the clock an emissive material that actually moved in real-time.

The phone came out looking a little bit strange in Unreal, partially because I had trouble making the base mesh. This was one of the later assets I made as it was more difficult to produce such smooth shapes. The texturing really helps sell the look.

The base mesh was done by me, but Laika created the lovely textures. Overall pretty happy with how the mesh looks but the blades could be better.

The first asset I made - the stove/oven, and the frying pan and teatowel that were also made by myself.

Made at the same time as the frying pan, this cooking pot had its colour changed from red to yellow by another group member, but the rest of it was done by me. Glass proves to confuse me, still.

One of the last assets I made, this kettle was pretty rushed. Came out looking okay thanks to texturing.

Grant did the textures, but this little Australian fridge magnet was modelled by me. We wanted to cover the fridge in decorations but ran out of time.

The rubbish bins were a bit tricky in terms of getting the exact shapes of the lids, but were pretty simple overall.
